Back on Track Products - Instructions for Use
Back on Track blankets and leg wraps should be introduced gradually. They should only be applied for a total period of 4 hours per day for the first 2-3 days. After that, it is recommended to keep them on overnight.
Caution should be used during the first 2-3 days as excessive use from the outset may cause legs to "fill up" due to increased blood circulation. However, this is a good sign of efficacy.
Please note that physical responses can be variable.
Often you will notice a reduction of puffy or sore joints within a few hours or days. Occasionally however, you will need to persevere for 10 days to 30 days, particularly with established long-term injuries.
How should Back on Track be used?
Back
Most often the blankets are used over night. If you notice that the back still has some problem left in the morning it is good to know that the body when moving produces more heat for reflection. We recommend using the saddle pad, loin sheet or the exercise sheet for this purpose. When the horse is wet after exercise the fleece cooler is a good choice.
It is generally recommended not to use liniments with Back on Track blankets and leg wraps, but if you don't achieve the desired result, you can choose to try a mild liniment or alcohol with the wraps. Be aware that any liniment gets stronger if used in conjunction with Back on Track, so please use your own judgement.
As symptoms such as pain and swelling may diminish or vanish completely, we recommend that you occasionally (say every three weeks) suspend the use of the blanket for 5-7 days. This will permit observation of the back and its movement to see if any underlying problem prevails that may require veterinary attention. Another reason for making a break is that some horses get used to the effect of the product and since we can not increase the dose the only way to maintain the best result in front of training and competition is not to use Back on Track continuously.
Not to be used during pregnancy.
Leg
Most often the leg wraps are used over night. If you notice that the leg still has a little swelling left in the morning it is good to know that the body when moving produces more heat for reflection.
We recommend using the Back on Track bandages (polo and exercise bandages)
for this purpose since they stay in position during movement. Preferably, Back on Track wraps should be applied to dry legs and wrapped with a regular bandage over the top.
It is generally recommended not to use liniments with Back on Track quilts, but if you don't achieve the desired result, you can choose to try a mild liniment or alcohol with the wraps. Be aware that any liniment gets stronger if used in conjunction with Back on Track leg wraps, so please use your own judgement.

Back on Track is often routinely used to prevent injuries and should then be used for 2-3 weeks followed by 5-7 days break. Alternatively, once you got used to the product Back on Track can be used 1 day before and two days after training and then make a pause until next training.
Not to be used during pregnancy.

Washing instructions
Back on Track products are machine washable up to 90°F or 30°C, using normal detergents that do not contain bleach. They should be air dried only. Please note: Do not use bleach or fabric softeners, and do not tumble dry. If you wish to iron these products, do so at a maximum of 50°C. As the ceramic powder is actually melded into the polyester/polypropylene threads, it will not separate when washed. The textile will however deteriorate with prolonged use.
